Rooms are fine and this is the nicest "chain" hotel on the island. Second floor has no elevator and the breakfast is horrendous. All packaged foods and they ran out of spoons.
Expensive for the time we went, but closeness and staff can't be beat!
We returned mid-day to find 2 strangers (carpet installers) in our room and all our tech, valuables and clothes stacked in the middle of the room. Not the installer's fault, they were very nice. But management failed to notify us of this intrusion. If we'd known, we could have secured our stuff and even taken some things with us in the car during that time. They comp'ed the room for the night, but I would have preferred less drama. This affected our entire vacation. Big mistake by management. Really dumb.
The Clarion MV was such a fabulous choice! Close to town, next to a super market to put some fav's in the room's fridge...and a much needed "proper" coffee maker! Most importantly it was spotless and the staff and Dyanne were all so professional and friendly. Dyanne is a Phenomenol Massage Therapist on site!!! Thanks All!
Great location, can walk downtown. But it is a very basic Clarion..Staff was wonderful and very friendly. But, we checked in, got our room key and found that the room hasn't been cleaned since the last guest..tracked down housekeeping and, thankfully, my husband stayed in the room because they were starting to make the bed with the old sheets and food used towels. Had to go to front desk to resolve..Room was comfortable but overlooked construction..For over $500 a night, we expected more..This room and hotel should be around $100/150 but Edgartown can get crazy prices..Then, breakfast was included but it was a small array of prepackaged pastry, rubber bagels and hard boiled eggs. For the price we paid, we expected a more substantial breakfast .Will probably stay elsewhere on our next visit.
