Fried clams and shrimp were delicious. It was the end of the season for them, so it was understandable that they were out of some foods. Absolutely great atmosphere, just not an "over-the-top" dining experience.
Ya could have warned a fella! DISGUSTING! Deep fried nasty balls of putrid puss that you would expect when gutting an animal and cutting into the wrong thing.
If there had been time, would have sent it all back.
We only had a very short time in town as part of a tour and wanted to experience the Seafood Shanty. Although it was very busy we got a table and having explained our need for speed our beers and lobster rolls arrived within 5 minutes. Not only that but the rolls were superb - I've never seen so much prime lobster meat in a roll. Beer was good too. Cannot recommend highly enough.
The staff was generally friendly, but our server was very utilitarian. I ordered their specialty salad, but received their standard garden salad and was charged for the specialty. Since I ate it and it was only $3 difference, I didn't argue it. Almost everything on their lunch menu is frozen although they said their dinners were fresh. It was just okay. I regretted spending so much money there.
There for Lunch, had the Fish & Chips! Wish that the cole slaw was more. Same size as tartar sauce!
The fried fish was tough, rubbery with a overpowering yucky taste that the bite I took... I spit out.
The views are spectacular and captivating! Wait staff were attentive and social. I can tell, the regulars are known and took care of their preferences. The place that knows your name! Well knows you!
Thank God the fries were edible. So we order two fish and chips meals and one meal of clams. I tried to ask the waitress about the clams but she didn't have time so.... I went for it.
Actually, ask if they would like a larger portion! Price was reasonable, considering that everything is shipped in! Well fish isn't, it's already there, in ocean! Upper deck, is a draw for sure! I didn't mind the sun!
